How Was Your ACT Experience?

How Was Your ACT Experience?

Keegan Godwin

Just recently, all the Juniors here at Muskego had to partake in the national ACT testing. These tests can be very stressful for many people, but it is vital if you plan on going further into your academic career. So, I decided to ask around and see what people did for the ACT testing. How they prepared, reacted, and what they thought when they were done.

The first junior that I asked was Mitchell Bloomer. To prepare for his ACT, he just reviewed what he learned. “In your classes, you learn almost everything about it so there isn’t much I did outside of school,” he said. During the ACT, he felt very rushed, and there was content on the ACT that he did not know. Afterward,  he was relieved that he was done.

I also spoke with Matthew Jensen about the ACT. I asked him the same questions as Mitchell, and to prepare for the test, he took practice tests in books that he had borrowed from the library. He also learned strategies that many others used to take the ACT. Finally, he took the practice classes at the school. During the test, he did not experience the same stress as Mitchell nor did he feel it was too difficult. “The more stressed you are the worse you will do” he stated. Afterward, Matt felt pretty good about the tests knowing that he did the best he could do to prepare for them.
Obviously, the ACT tests were very different for everyone since everyone has different approaches to their studies. Good luck to all juniors awaiting their scores!
