As the boy’s basketball season kicks off, the varsity team has defeated a tough opponent: New Berlin Eisenhower. Regardless, they still have a tough road ahead of them. After last year’s second place team begins its new season, the team has lost many of their seniors. I recently had a conversation with the boy varsity basketball coach, Mr. Capes, and he said that the biggest loss is that the “seniors taught the younger guys how to get better.” Mr. Capes hopes that the most experienced players will help the younger players become better players. Regarding the overall status of the varsity team, Coach Capes said that the team has very good chemistry, looks talented, and the young team needs to mature as fast as they can. However, with each team, there are challenges. Coach Capes says that “Arrowhead and Mukwonago will be some of the toughest teams we face this year.” The boy’s basketball team hopes to make it back to the state championship once more, so good luck to them!
