Boys CC Makes it to State…Again

Running+to+Victory

cc2016     This year, the MHS boys’ cross country team had another successful season. Our boys cross country team won their WIAA Sectional race, earning them a trip to Wisconsin Rapids for the WIAA State Meet. Although two key runners faced damaging injuries, Coach Michaud stated, “our goal was to make it and to do the best we could while enjoying the experience. [We] did that.”
At Sectionals, Kyle Neuroth led the way by finishing in 5th place overall in the twelve team race. Our next finisher was sophomore Adam Kierzek; Kyle and Adam got to finish their season at the state meet for the second year in a row. The remaining five runners – junior Gino Pierangeli, sophomore Tyler Termaat, freshman Erik Kain, junior Eric Jensen, and senior Joe Foye – competed at the state meet for their first time.
As a program, this marked the 9th state trip in school history, the 8th in the past 11 years, and the 4th year in a row.
