Meet Adam Rohlinger

A Student Whose Character is reflective of the Warrior Way by Brandon Hungleman-Skiba

Adam RohlingerDo you have any hobbies? Sports? Clubs? Music? Always lived in Muskego?

My hobbies include fishing, cross-country skiing, and paintball. I play tennis. I’m in Student Council and National Honor Society. I was born in Mississippi and lived in Ohio before moving to Muskego.

How did you adjust to Muskego High School after transferring from Ohio?

It was a tough transition to move as a Sophomore. Muskego was a lot different than my school in Mason, Ohio.I don’t think Muskego gets a lot of new kids so there was no one to commiserate with. I had to figure out a new school, meet new friends and navigate a challenging class schedule. My parents encouraged me to join student council right away because it was something I enjoyed at my old school. It really helped me meet people.

What are your future plans?

I would like to go to college and study engineering and history. Maybe eventually end up in law school…who knows?

If so, where are you going/or want to go for college?

I’m thinking maybe Platteville or UW-Madison. I’m a little tired of moving so staying in state appeals to me.

What was your favorite high school subject?

History has always been my most interesting subject. Although, lately physics has been my favorite.

Who was your most inspirational teacher? Why?

The teacher who inspired me the most was Mr. Michaud. I have had him as my English teacher for three years straight. I’ve always liked English enough, but Mr. Michaud’s approach stresses understanding the material instead of just working to get a good grade. Getting to focus on enjoying the learning process really changed English for me. I guess I just like his approach and his witty banter really speaks to me.

What has been your favorite memory of high school thus far?

I would say Homecoming week is my most memorable. It’s crazy busy being on student council and we all have a blast together. It’s  fun when everyone gets to celebrate our school and share a common goal.

Any summer plans?

I work on the weed crew for The Little Muskego Lake District, so I will spend my summer on the water. In August before I leave for college my family is going to Ireland so that should be cool.
