Poms Take on Badgerette

On January 5th the MHS Poms team competed in the Badgerette State Championships.  The Poms team is a part of spirit leadership to help encourage school spirit.  The team does performances with the Band, half-time shows for the football team and basketball team along with competing in competitions throughout the year.  At the Badgerette State Competition the team took 1st in Hip Hop and 2nd in Pom and Jazz.  Poms has worked very hard learning their dances starting all the way back in June.   The MHS Poms team consists of a larger team of 35 girls with the average being 24.

Coach Rachel Troyer says “My favorite part and the girls favorite part of the season was attending the State Championships for the MHS Football Team.  The football team winning state and the girls being a part of that half time and celebration is by far a memory to last a lifetime for everyone.”  As this season comes to an end they say goodbye to 5 Seniors.  Katie Auble, Anna Callies, Kaylee Kleibor, Alyssa Kolesari and Sammy Skalla have danced on the team for all 4 years.  Coach stated “The girls had a great season” “They are very talented and a great group of girls.”
