HOSA: New Club at MHS

Rabia Ahmed, a junior, is putting in extreme efforts to start a HOSA club at Muskego High School. HOSA is Health Occupation Students of America. Anyone who is interested in science or is thinking about pursuing a medical career should consider joining this club. It is a great way to make friends who have similar interests as you. Rabia hopes to have various leadership positions within the club. HOSA hosts various competitions that students can participate in, including a national competition, and she aims to have the club ready to participate in these as soon as possible. In addition to these competitions, there will be various trips and activities that the club will go on where the students will be able to experience many medical occupations first hand. The HOSA association offers scholarship opportunities to some of the most intelligent and hard-working students involved. Rabia is currently working with Mrs. Hujer, hoping that she will become the club’s advisor, and Ms. Lemens, who could potentially become a second advisor if the club becomes large enough. HOSA’s motto is, “To enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students, therefore, helping the student meet the needs of the health care community”. If you are interested, respond to the survey that Rabia sent to the entire student body, or contact her directly.
