55 Programs – 1600 Students – 1Warrior

At Muskego High School, we take pride in having many first-rate co-curricular activities available to all students to participate in. With over fifty-five programs and over 1,600 participants, students are offered many options and opportunities.

“The primary purpose of these programs is to assist students in growing and maturing into responsible members of our school and community. These activities are, and will continue to be, an important part of secondary school life” (Ryan McMillen, Athletics & Activities Director).

Both clubs and athletics are an important and integral part of learning, growing, and succeeding, the core values of our high school. These co-curricular activities help engrave many important qualities into students, such as forming important relationships, exploring career options, learning dedication and determination, and learning how to handle both triumphs and failures.

This year, our high school has been hosting 1 Warrior events to show our school spirit and support our fellow students involved with co-curricular activities. The overarching idea revolves around the concept that we are one warrior, all involved in activities that represent our school, MHS. These events work to convey a unity between all activities, rather than highlighting their separation. Any student who is involved in a co-curricular activity received a 1 Warrior shirt at the beginning of the school year and was asked to attend the special 1 Warrior events that were going to be hosted throughout the year. So far, there has been a number of fall sport events hosted, from girls’ golf, boys’ volleyball, and so many more! At these 1 Warrior events, students who attend wearing their 1 Warrior t-shirt have been exposed to special benefits such as ice cream, prizes, and much more while supporting their fellow students. These events help highlight the togetherness of our student body, and reflect upon our own high school in a positive light. No matter what way you participate at our school, you are a 1 Warrior. This 1 Warrior initiative focuses on a united front of inclusion, cooperation, and participation.

Our 1 Warrior program helps to highlight the concepts of the Warrior’s Way: pride, humility, integrity, respect, and responsibility.  Pride in our school’s activities, both victories and losses. Humility, showing our support for our teams no matter how they do. Integrity, demonstrating positive attitudes and sportsmanship when it comes to competition of any type. Respect, showing our appreciation of all these individuals that participate in these activities and the efforts that they put in to be successful. Finally, responsibility, making sure that all students involved in co-curricular activities fulfill the roles that they are expected to, and show their support of others whilst doing so.

These events have been a success so far, so continue to encourage your fellow students involved in co-curriculars and attend upcoming 1 Warrior events! Watch the announcements for what co-curricular activity will be chosen next, and make sure to arrive in your 1 Warrior t-shirt to show your support!
