MHS Powderpuff Tradition

Alexis Shannon

This year’s powderpuff football game was filled with team spirit and sportsmanship that positively represented our school as a whole. All of the girls participating worked extraordinarily hard, allowing them to physically express their pride. The senior coach, Mr. Irvine, who lead them to victory claimed, “It was really fun to watch the seniors work so well together. They were extremely positive and brought a ton of great energy to the games. I think I was mostly impressed by the amount of strong leadership that shined through in several ways.” Following the seniors came the juniors and then freshmen, with the sophomores coming in last place but not without a fight. With fans cheering along the sidelines, no matter how the team placed, the players continued to be grateful for the opportunity that was given to them. Overall, powderpuff is always an extremely rewarding and enjoyable experience that our school should be thankful for every year during homecoming week.
