The girls gymnastics team is the 2017 WIAA state champion!
The combined team of athletes from Franklin-Muskego and Oak Creek won the 2017 state gymnastics meet on Saturday beating a very talented field including Kenosha combined, Arrowhead and Brookfield combined.
This is the 6th state title for the team in the last 7 years.
Contributing to the team victory from Muskego were: Senior Abigail Missiaen and Sophomores Claire Maki, Elizabeth Missiaen, Krystal Nelson and Emma Warr.
On Saturday in the individual competition senior Abigail Missiaen tied for first on the vault with a 9.8 to become the 2017 WIAA state vault champion! Abigail also placed 8th in the all-around. Sophomore Krystal placed 4th in the all-around with a season high score of 37.6. Sophomore Elizabeth Missiaen brought home the most medals with a 4th place finish on bars (9.25) a 6th place finish on floor (9.367) and a 5th place finish on vault (9.483). Elizabeth also finished 7th in the all-around.
It was an incredible weekend for warrior gymnastics and the best way to finish a very successful season. Congrats to all the state champions on a job well done!
