As the season comes to an end wrestlers Parker Bevilacqua, Evan Sinda and Jorin McGuire take on state.  On February 23-25 the boys attended the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament. Stress was in the air as all wrestlers fought for their spot on the podium.  560 wrestlers qualified for state as 42 left champions.  All three boys tried their hardest and left it all on the mat.  Sophomore Parker Bevilacqua wrestled at weight class 106. Bevilacqua won his first match 4-3, lost his second match 10-4, won his third match 2-1, won his fourth match 6-5, lost his fifth match 4-3 and won his sixth match 5-3.  Parker Bevilacqua won his spot on the podium as 5th in the state.

Junior Evan Sinda, two time state qualifier, went into the state tournament with a bad back injury and fought hard but unfortunately fell short in his first two matches.  Sinda wrestled at the 138 weight class and lost his first match with a technical fall 16-1 and lost his second match 9-1.  Senior Jorin McGuire, also a two-time state qualifier, was put in a tough bracket. Jorin wrestlde his second match with last year’s state champion, only to fall short one match from making it on the podium.  Jorin wrestled at the 285 weight class, won his first match in a pin in 36 seconds, lost his second match 5-3, won his third match with a pin in 2:03 and lost his fourth match 5-2.  The Muskego wrestling team ended their season on a high with making it to state for the 18th year in a row. All athletes put up tough fights through the season and did it with the support of coaches, family, and friends by their side.
