Muskego’s Curious Minds Reach Out to the Community

Maybe you’ve seen posters around the school about raising awareness for Cerebral Palsy. Maybe you’ve heard about people selling wristbands and cookies to raise money for the National Down Syndrome Organization. Maybe you’ve read the article on this website called “How do NASA’s Actions Affect You?”. All these activities have something in common,or more specifically, a class. Mrs. Schultz’s Accelerated Biology students are reaching out to the community through their curious minds project. First semester, all her students picked a science related topic that they were curious about and gave a presentation to their class about what they learned through researching the topic. Second semester, however, they were assigned the task to use what they learned and share it with the community. Some students shared it with the student body at MHS. Some shared it with middle schoolers, and other with girl scout troops. Whatever way they executed it, students used their learning and directly applied it to life in the real world. They are sharing their knowledge of something they were genuinely curious about with the community and reaching out while doing so. So great job to these students who are growing, learning, and succeeding!
